Grant success to help navigate the NDIS
GIFSA has been awarded a 'Information, Linkages & Capacity Building (ILC)' grant to help make the Goldfields-Esperance region more welcoming, accessible and inclusive of people with disability.
ILC is part of the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) that supports community and mainstream services to include, support and involve people with disability.
ILC focuses on building a person's capacity to live the life they want and creating opportunities in the community for them to do so. It provides people with the information and support they need to participate in their community.
GIFSA's ILC grant will support people with disability to engage with and navigate the NDIS and will be run over 18 months.GIFSA intends to deliver group workshops and personalised one on one sessions to people with disability, their families and carers in the Goldfields –Esperance Region (which will include remote Aboriginal communities within the Ngaanyatjarra Lands).
