About GIFSA

The Goldfields Individual & Family Support Association (Inc) was established to assist individuals with a disability, and the members of his or her Family, in achieving and maintaining improved individual and family living arrangements, community access, and quality of lifestyle through the following activities:

   - by providing and/or arranging services and supports tailored to the needs, wishes and circumstances of each situation;

   - by providing choice about the range, frequency and timing of services and/or support arranged through or provided by the Association;

   - by assisting with making the appropriate arrangements and/or referrals in circumstances where the Association is not a direct service provider for the relevant service;

   - by monitoring and researching current policies and practices in family and disability support, and developing services in response to newly perceived needs;

   - by demonstrating and promoting a best practice model of disability services and support;

   - by providing education and information on disability services and support to members of the Association and to the community;

   - by providing advice to government and non-government organisations, and lobbying such organisations in the interests of individuals with a Disability and their Families;

   - by doing all such acts as are incidental or conducive to furthering the objects of the Association.
