The Goldfields Individual & Family Support Association (Inc) is a community based, non government, not-for-profit association. We have been incorporated since March 7 1991, supporting People with disabilities, Carers and families living in the whole of the Goldfields regions.
It is our vision that individuals with disabilities and their families have the opportunity to live better lifestyles where, and how they want to in an accepting and supportive community.
GIFSA offer a wide range of programs to meet individual needs.
Programs include:
- Respite - In home, Out of home or Centre based
- Day time options - Living for the Future
- MRS - Mobile Respite Services
OBJECTIVES
- To offer a variety of supports and opportunities to people with a disability who are eligible for registration with the Disability Services Commission;
- To deliver a range and frequency of services that meet individual needs;
- To offer and assist in the application of funding which will improve the lives of people with disabilities;
- To assist in location of suitable accommodation according to the needs and desires of people with disabilities and their families;
- To help arrange appropriate in-home or out-of-home supports that maximize independence, privacy, safety, comfort and community access;
- To promote self-sufficiency in people with disabilities; and
- To monitor current policies and practices across the sector for people with disabilities.
